In Elista, young badminton players played the awards of the “Sunny Volcano”

On the sports ground of the republican integrated sports school of the Olympic reserve in the Palace of Sports named after N. M. Kaldarikov, the traditional open children's badminton tournament "Sun Volanchik" was held. These competitions have already become a significant part of the sports life of the republic and annually gather young athletes from different regions of Kalmykia and neighboring regions. This year, the tournament was held for the first time on five gaming courts, which allowed to make the schedule more saturated and provide participants with more gaming practice.

In total, 54 young athletes came to the site. The geography of the participants covered Elista, Iki-Burulsky, Yashkul and Tselinsky districts, as well as guests from Stavropol. For many children, this tournament became an opportunity to test their strength, get experience of meeting opponents from other schools and teams.

Medals were played in doubles among boys and girls, as well as in mixed doubles. Participants were divided into three age groups, covering ages 8 to 17. According to the results of the competition, the winners and prize-winners received cups, medals and certificates.
