In Mariupol on the basis of the sports school “Favorit” appeared Lukodrome with an Olympic distance

On the territory of the restored sports and recreation complex of the sports school "Favorit" in Mariupol, a professional lucodrome with an Olympic distance appeared.

This was reported in the press service of the public law company “Single customer in the field of construction”. As noted, the lucodrome is not the only advantage of this institution for effective training. There is also a modern football field, three tennis courts, sports grounds and a workout area. In addition, many other things are provided on the territory of the complex for physical education and sports.

In the building itself, the specialists of the “United Customer” updated the pool, gymnastics and gyms, rooms for martial arts, as well as space for archers. All these facilities create full-fledged conditions for training athletes of different directions.

Separately, it is worth talking about the lucodrome itself. It is equipped in accordance with professional standards and is designed for the Olympic distance. For archery at the Olympic Games, athletes fire from 70 meters on a target with a diameter of 122 centimeters. The most valuable zone - ten - has a diameter of only 12.2 centimeters, which is approximately comparable to the size of a large apple. Getting into it requires an archer of exceptional accuracy, concentration and many years of training.

At the disposal of athletes are modern equipment and a specially organized space that allows for full-fledged training at all stages of training. The training process in archery requires not only accuracy, but also serious physical endurance. Athletes use recursive bows with tension, often exceeding 20 kilograms, and the speed of the arrow flight can reach 200 kilometers per hour. During intensive training, archers fire 300-400 arrows a day, and the total duration of training reaches ten hours.

More than 150 people will be able to play sports here at the same time. This indicator makes the complex a popular platform for both professional athletes and fans of an active lifestyle.

The updated infrastructure opens up new opportunities for school pupils and residents of the city for sports. The emergence of the Olympic-level Lucodrome is not only a step forward for the school itself, but also a contribution to the development of archery as a sport in the region. It’s time to set new sports goals!
