In Orel, the fifth charity race “Coast” was held. This is reported in the press service of the regional government.
1.5 thousand people participated in the charity race. The starting point was Lenin Square. Participants of the marathon were welcomed by the Governor of the Orel region Andrei Klychkov.
The race has been held in the region annually since 2022. Following the events of previous years, inclusive playgrounds were created in Orel and Mtsensk. This year, the funds will be used to purchase, install and equip a frame house for a creative family workshop on the basis of the Regional Rehabilitation Center for children and adolescents with disabilities.
The holiday began with the issuance of starter kits to participants. There was also a traditional warm-up.
Participants with disabilities were the first to overcome the distance of 100 meters. Then the youngest runners ran 1 kilometer. And then the start came those who are already 14 years old. Adult participants covered distances of 5.6 kilometers and 11.4 kilometers.
It was not necessary to run - many wanted to help with the help of the service "I will not run, but help" on the race website.
Since the beginning of the holiday, there has been an exhibition dedicated to various sports and sports schools. By the time of the start of the 5.6-kilometer and 11.4-kilometer race, a children's zone was opened, in which adult runners could leave the babies. There was a massage area for all participants.
The sports festival will end with a charity concert. Orlovchan will be pleased with the performance of the author and performer Alexei Sulima.
