In Simferopol held a tournament in Russian billiards in memory of Norik Grigoryan

In Simferopol in early October 2026, the Republican tournament in Russian billiards among fans of the memory of Norik Meliksetovich Grigoryan was held. 64 players took part in the competition.

Competitions in the discipline "Moscow Pyramid" brought together experienced fans of Russian billiards in two age categories - from 40 to 59 years and 60 years and older.

Matches took place up to two victories on the system with the upper and lower nets. The defeat in the first match did not mean elimination - the player had the opportunity to continue the fight in the lower net.

Despite the amateur status, the tournament brought together players with many years of experience. Many participants have been involved in billiards for decades, so the competitions were held in an intense and uncompromising struggle.

Despite the fact that the tournament is amateur, there are very strong players here - people with extensive experience in playing billiards. Many people have been doing this sport for decades. Therefore, the tournament turned out to be decent in level, with bright and uncompromising fights, said tournament organizer Karen Grigoryan.

A total of eight prizes were awarded. The additional prize fund from the organizers amounted to 60 thousand rubles, to which entrance fees of participants were added. Winners and prize-winners received cash prizes, cups, medals and certificates.

The opening of the tournament was attended by organizers and honorary guests. The welcoming speech was made by Yuri Popinyan, who took an active part in the organization of the competitions, a close friend of Norik Grigoryan Alexander Taryannik, as well as the owner of the club and the famous billiards player Alexander Vashchenkov. In conclusion, the wife of Norik Grigoryan Elena addressed the participants.

The organizers plan to hold a tournament in memory of Norik Grigoryan annually in early October.

Norik Meliksetovich Grigoryan is a public figure, organizer and participant of billiard tournaments. He was the initiator and organizer of the Golden League tournaments in Crimea and contributed to the development of billiards in Crimea and Russia.
