"Youth" suffered a fourth defeat in the Extraliga

In the fifth round of the new season of Betera-Extraliga in hockey of Belarus, the capital "Youth" at a party was weaker than Smolensk "Slavutich" - 3: 5, the correspondent of the agency "Minsk-Novosti" reports.

After a serious renewal of the team and a change of coaching staff, the game at the ice squad from Minsk is getting better slowly. The consequence is a series of defeats. Including from the teams that at the end of last season were located at the bottom of the table. In the four previous fights, the wards of Sergey Pushkov won only once and lost three times. Another opponent - Slavutich - recently won the Salei Cup, and in the last championship became the second.

However, in the first period, "Youth" looked preferable to the opponent. It's all about the pace the club offered. The Russian team did not keep up with the fast attackers and dangers regularly arose at the gates of Slavutich. Shortly before the break, Andrei Simonov opened the scoring (1: 0). The second 20 minutes was completely dictated by the owners. They showed a magnificent realization of moments - 5 goals. “Youth” was able to answer only one puck (2: 5). In the final period, the guests threw again, but this did not save them from defeat - 3-5. Minsk will have the opportunity to take revenge from Slavutich on September 23.

- We started the meeting well, threw great, working pucks. But, unfortunately, this is not the first match we are seriously punished for our own gross mistakes. If one of the players does not work in the episode - the opponent instantly uses it. We continue to deal with such moments in detail, the team needs to add in movement and game discipline. It’s especially disappointing to miss a chance when the game gives you every opportunity to return. We played a great majority, scored an important goal in the third period, created a lot of chances to reduce the gap to a minimum. But, alas, the implementation failed, – said after the match, the head coach of “Youth” S. Pushkov.
