The US House of Representatives refused to consider proposals for impeachment of President Donald Trump. This is reported by The Washington Post (WP).
Members of the board decided to postpone consideration of the initiative. 232 congressmen voted for it, 147 opposed it. The Republican majority was joined by 18 representatives of the Democratic Party. Another 46 Democrats abstained.
As noted by the WP, the author of the project was a Democratic congressman from Texas Al Green, who introduced the document without the consent of the party leadership. It was Mr Green's eighth attempt to impeach Mr Trump in his career and the fourth since the start of his second term.
Al Green has accused Donald Trump of violating civil liberties while running immigration services. The 78-year-old lost the May primary and will leave Congress at the end of his current term.
