Pakistan’s Chargé d’affaires in New Delhi has been summoned to the Indian Foreign Ministry. The cause was the collision of ships of the Indian and Pakistani Navy. The incident occurred in international waters, the date of the Indian Ministry did not give.
According to the Indian Foreign Ministry, there was no serious damage, but the conduct of the Pakistani Navy was "unacceptable and unprofessional." The agency believes that Pakistan’s actions are contrary to Art. 10 of the bilateral agreement of April 1991, according to which countries must notify each other about military exercises, maneuvers and troop movements.
The Pakistani diplomat was strongly protested. It also recommends that the Pakistani authorities “exercise due diligence and respect the provisions of the agreements between the two sides in order to avoid the recurrence of such incidents.” The Chargé d'affaires of India in Islamabad has been instructed to send a similar protest to the Pakistani Foreign Ministry.
