A Paris court has ordered compensation for Kim Kardashian and several other plaintiffs in a 2016 robbery case. Then jewelry worth about €9 million was stolen from the star’s room at the Hotel de Pourtales. At the request of Kardashian herself, the court awarded her a payment of €1. Reuters reports.

As Kim Kardashian explained her desire, the purpose of the claim for compensation for damages is not to receive money, but to “officially admit the guilt of the robbers and fix moral responsibility for the psychological trauma she experienced.” A similar compensation was requested and received by stylist Kim Kardashian Simon Harush. The night porter, who was tied up by robbers and forced to open Kim Kardashian's room under threat of weapons, sought compensation of €550,000 because he suffered a psychological trauma. The court gave him about €110,000. The amount of damages for the Hotel de Pourtales itself was €50,000.

The robbery took place in October 2016 during Paris Fashion Week. A group of men broke into Ms Kardashian's suite at the Hotel de Pourtales. They tied her up and locked her in the bathroom, after which they took all the jewelry out of the room and disappeared. Among them was a $4 million wedding ring donated by Kanye West. Most of the jewelry was never found. All participants in the robbery were detained, sentenced in 2025 to fines and terms ranging from three to ten years. None of them went to prison because of the elderly age of 60-70 years, diseases and already served before the court term in prison.
