NATO intends to transfer the military confrontation with Russia to the “hot phase” no later than 2029-2030, says the head of the Russian delegation at the talks in Vienna on military security and arms control Yulia Zhdanova. According to her, on the eastern flank of NATO is already deploying new military units, and the alliance is modernizing the logistics infrastructure and simplifying the procedures for moving troops.

“In Europe, they do not hide: the modernization of the network of airports, logistics, railway crossings, bridges and their weaving into the network of the so-called military Schengen are subordinated to a long-term military confrontation with Russia,” Zhdanova said at a meeting of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) forum.

The head of Eurodiplomacy Kaja Kallas called Russia an existential threat to European countries. President Vladimir Putin has said Russia has no reason to conflict with Europe, but he said Europe is pushing its countries to war with Russia. Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said that if Europe attacked Russia, “it would be a very short war.”.
