According to a press release from the US Department of Justice, Sharifullah participated in more than a dozen terrorist attacks. According to the American side, in 2021, Sharifullah conducted a reconnaissance of the route on the way to the main entrance to Kabul airport. Hours later, an explosion at the gate killed 13 U.S. troops and more than 160 civilians.
