Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk said Russia could launch “hybrid attacks” against countries supporting Ukraine in the next few months. Mr. Tusk said this during a speech before Parliament.
“Intelligence assessments suggest that Russia’s plan also includes hybrid drone and missile strikes against countries supporting Ukraine, including Poland,” he said. The intelligence, according to Donald Tusk, is "consistent and compelling.".
The Polish prime minister said that the Russian strategy may include seemingly random actions aimed at weakening the readiness of NATO member states to respond to potential aggression. Mr Tusk pointed to the "real risk" that UAVs or missiles could strike the territory of one or more NATO countries on the eastern flank and even cause damage.
On September 13, Polish railway operator PKP Intercity reported a UAV attack on a passenger train en route from Kiev to Warsaw. The incident occurred on Ukrainian territory near the Polish border. The next day off the coast of Poland in the Baltic sea found a fallen drone. The Polish Ministry of Defense claimed that the UAV is Russian-made.
