Thai Prime Minister Anuthin Chanvirakun has called for tougher measures against foreigners who “behave aggressively” or engage in illegal business activities. He also urged tourists to die at home, not in the kingdom.
“If you die, go die at home. Don't die here. And don’t exploit us, Anuthin Chanvirakun said at a meeting with provincial governors. He warned foreigners against setting up private cemeteries in Thailand. “This is too much, it goes far beyond what is permitted. You should be grateful that we allowed you to come here, he said.
Anuthin Chanvirakun made the announcement two days after exhuming the remains of four people from an unlicensed Jewish cemetery in Chachengsau province in northeastern Thailand. The government has ordered the remains to be moved to a licensed cemetery in a neighboring province, Bankgkok Post reported.
