The security forces detained in Armenia the brother of the former Prime Minister of the Republic Hovik Abrahamyan – Henrikh Abrahamyan. This was reported by Armenia Today press secretary of the Anti-Corruption Committee Marina Ohanjanyan.

Mr. Abrahamyan was detained during the investigation of a criminal case on the facts of falsification and abuse of official powers. What violations are imputed to the brother of the former Prime Minister of Armenia is unknown. Armlur.am notes that charges were brought against Henrikh Abrahamyan’s brother, John Abrahamyan, and Argam Abrahamyan, the son of the former prime minister and son-in-law of businessman Gagik Tsarukyan, leader of the Prosperous Armenia opposition party.

Argam Abramyan was arrested on August 9 for two months on charges of incitement to contract murder. According to investigators, Mr. Abrahamyan suspected his wife in connection with the pastor of the religious organization “Christians of the Evangelical Faith” Soghomon V. and the transfer of large sums to him. Later, the preacher was shot dead by the guard Argam Abrahamyan. Prime Minister Hovik Abrahamyan called the accusation against his son absurd.
