US President Donald Trump said that his eldest son returned the money to a Russian businessman who partially paid for the wedding of Trump Jr.

“As far as I understand, he returned the money to him. When I found out about the story, I asked him and he said, "I'll give him the money back, Dad." It was a while ago, so as far as I know, he paid him off, Donald Trump said in response to a question from AFP.

The wedding of Donald Trump Jr. and his wife Bettina took place in May. In September, ProPublica published an investigation, according to which the lease of one of the private islands and fireworks shows was paid by the president of the International Boxing Association and the owner of UNC Holding Umar Kremlev. Trump Jr. said that they have a personal relationship with the businessman. Bettina Trump said that “Dear friend Umar has arranged for us two incredible nights of celebration after the wedding,” but did not participate in the celebrations.
