US President Donald Trump announced the conclusion of an indefinite agreement with Denmark and Greenland. According to the agreement, the rights to ensure the security of the island pass to the United States.

“I am pleased to announce that the United States has entered into an agreement with the Kingdom of Denmark and Greenland whereby the United States has permanent control over Greenland’s security and other needs,” Trump wrote on Truth Social.

The U.S. immediately begins to build up its military presence in a certain part of Greenland. “From now on, no adversary of the United States will ever be able to have a base in Greenland, a military contingent, a confidential investment in Greenland without our written consent,” Trump said.

US Secretary of State Marco Rubio explained that Denmark and Greenland do not have enough funds to ensure the security of the island in the event of an attack.
