North Korea has fired a ballistic missile into the Sea of Japan for the second time since early September. This is reported by the agency “Renhap” with reference to the Joint Chiefs of Staff of the Republic of Korea.
The projectile was launched from Wonsan district. It fell outside the exclusive economic zone of Japan: it stretches 370 km from the land territory of the country.
North Korea launched several short-range ballistic missiles from the same area on September 12. Soon, the sister of the North Korean leader and head of the department of the Central Committee of the Workers’ Party of Korea Kim Ye-jong accused the United States, South Korea and Japan of aggravating the situation in the region due to joint exercises. The events took place from 7 to 11 September in international waters east and south of Jeju Island.
