The White House is not harassing the free press, it is attacking fake news. This was stated by US President Donald Trump in the social network Truth Social.

He is launching an attack on fake news that has grown like cancer in our beloved United States of America. This is a threat to our national security and must be stopped now!, Trump tweeted.

On September 18, Donald Trump denied access to the White House to journalists CNN, MS NOW and Politico. He accused the editors of these media of publishing fakes about the work of the American administration. In February 2025, a similar ban was imposed on Associated Press journalists. Today, CNN, Politico and MS Now filed a lawsuit against the US president. The lawsuit argues that the ban violates constitutional guarantees of freedom of speech.
