On September 21, the US president opened a new helipad on the South Lawn of the White House. TV channels ABC, CBS, NBC, as well as loyal to Donald Trump Fox News decided not to send their journalists and cameramen to the event. Because of this, the video of Mr. Trump’s speech, which is distributed by the press service of the White House, was broadcast without sound – the sound from such events is provided by the media staff of the presidential pool.
The boycott was joined by The New York Times and The Washington Post. They refused to publish materials and footage from official events in which Donald Trump participates.
The president has barred reporters from CNN, MS NOW and Politico from visiting the White House because, he said, “they cover fake news all the time.” In a joint statement, the media accused Donald Trump of violating the First Amendment to the US Constitution, which guarantees freedom of speech. CNN, MS NOW and Politico also filed suit against the presidential administration.
