US President Donald Trump plans to discuss with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky the cessation of strikes on energy infrastructure facilities. This was reported by US Secretary of State Marco Rubio in an interview with Fox News.
According to Rubio, Washington intends to propose to initiate a moratorium under which neither Ukrainian energy infrastructure, nor Russian facilities and energy supply channels will not be attacked.
As noted by Marco Rubio, the implementation of this initiative will require the consent of both parties to the conflict, which is the main difficulty. This idea was discussed earlier between Moscow, Kiev and Washington, and was also the subject of agreements in March 2025, but the parties differed on the degree of compliance with these agreements.
