Since my first election in 2016, President Xi Jinping and I have established friendships that are truly great, based on mutual respect and the vital interests of our peoples. We spent time together all over the world, from Germany to Argentina, from Japan to South Korea, from Beijing to Palm Beach, Florida. But it is remarkable that this is our first meeting together here in the White House, Trump said during an official reception in honor of Xi at the White House.
Xi Jinping arrived in the United States today. The Chinese leader is scheduled to have one-on-one and delegation talks with Donald Trump, as well as a state dinner. The parties plan to discuss security issues, the global situation, AI and other issues.
