In recent days, the government of Pedro Sánchez has faced yet another crisis: mass protests are taking place in the country against the inaccessibility of housing and insufficient protection of the rights of tenants. Protesters set up camp in central Madrid. Last week, the government failed to secure parliamentary support for the housing bill. According to its authors, it was supposed to alleviate the housing crisis and improve conditions for tenants.
Mr. Sánchez’s government has been plagued by the migration crisis in Ceuta and corruption scandals involving members of the prime minister’s family and close associates.
