The Moldovan border police said that on the morning of October 5, a shell fell near the Palanka-Mayaki-Udobnoye checkpoint on the Moldovan-Ukrainian border. The Moldovan side blamed Russia for the incident.
“At 09:38 near the checkpoint (on Moldovan territory). “Kommersant” fell the shell and, hitting the ground, ricocheted and hit a parked bus, the police said. The bus was damaged and a police officer was also slightly injured.
The work of the checkpoint was suspended. Citizens were advised not to travel to the area. At the same time, the press release of the police indicates that the incident is “related to Russian attacks on Ukrainian infrastructure.”.
Last week, the Moldovan Foreign Ministry twice summoned the Russian ambassador because of the penetration of the UAV into the airspace of Moldova. In September, Ambassador Oleg Ozerov, commenting on earlier similar cases, called the accusations against Russia unsubstantiated.
