“We will certainly consider this issue. I know a lot of people in Lithuania. These are wonderful people, Mr. Trump said.
On October 1, Lithuanian Prime Minister Mindaugas Sinkevičius said that the country is ready to deploy American military contingent on its territory on a permanent basis. According to Mr. Sinkevičius, he said this during a meeting with US special envoy John Cole. Vilnius is ready to reimburse the Pentagon for all costs because it is interested in the presence of American troops as a security guarantee.
