The funds could form part of a major funding round totaling at least $30 billion, with the company valued at $1.4 trillion. The group may also be joined by investment firm BlackRock Inc. In addition, among other possible participants, current investors are mentioned - Thrive Capital, Andreessen Horowitz.
In September, the head of OpenAI Sam Altman announced the postponement of the initial public offering (IPO). He explained the refusal to go public in 2026 by the need to focus on security issues and adapt to the new realities of the AI industry.
