Shinhan Bank on October 1, reported the leak of personal information of approximately 25,000 customers, including their names, phone numbers and annual income. KB Kookmin Bank was also affected. 89 clients were stolen from Hana Bank. Woori Bank and NH Nonghyup Bank were also tracked, but they blocked unauthorized access to their systems. Authorities have not yet disclosed details.
On October 6, the Renhap news agency announced the start of a large-scale investigation into hacker attacks. The country’s financial watchdog has identified 19 IP addresses in the US, Japan and 10 other countries that were used in the AI attack.
