Peskov: Germany creates an ephemeral enemy from Russia
The German authorities artificially create an ephemeral enemy from Russia to justify their military spending on militarization, says the press Secretary of the President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Peskov. So he commented on the words of the head of the Federal intelligence service of Germany Martin Yeager about the risk of involvement of Germany in an armed confrontation with Russia.

So he commented on the words of the head of the Federal intelligence service of Germany Martin Yeager about the risk of involvement of Germany in an armed confrontation with Russia.
According to Mr. Peskov, the Russian side has heard such accusations “repeatedly.” “This is, let’s say, such an informational technique – the artificial creation of an ephemeral enemy in order to justify the costs of militarization – what Germany is doing,” the presidential spokesman said at a briefing.
Last week, German Chancellor Friedrich Merz said the continental peace order in Europe was under attack from Russia. Mr. Merz argues that it is to deter Moscow that the German authorities “invest in the military power and economic stability of the country.” At the same time, the German Foreign Ministry believes that Europe “has a chance for good relations with Russia in the future.”.
