Russia is ready to help the United States fight outbreaks of dangerous infectious diseases. The Russian side can provide specialists, laboratory equipment and highly effective diagnostic tools, Rospotrebnadzor reported.

According to the Agency, in June of this year in new Mexico recorded the first year of death from the plague. In August, two people died of measles in Pennsylvania. In addition, since the beginning of the year in the United States recorded seven cases of typhoid.

“The situation for dangerous infectious diseases remains unstable. Russia has extensive practical and scientific experience in ensuring epidemiological well-being both at home and abroad, Rospotrebnadzor said.

Due to the rapid spread of measles, an emergency regime was introduced on October 5 in New York state for a month. As of October 3, 108 confirmed cases have been reported in New York City. Of these, 92 were found in undervaccinated rural areas. According to the US Centers for Disease Control, in 2025 there were 2.2 thousand cases of measles in the country, while at the beginning of October 2026 there were 3.8 thousand cases. This is the highest level since 1991.
