In the Parliament of Armenia there was a fight between deputies of the ruling party “Civil contract” and opposition factions. Because of this, Parliament Speaker Ruben Rubinyan announced a break in the meeting.
Edgar Ghazaryan, a deputy from the opposition Strong Armenia party, spoke from the podium with criticism when the speaker of the parliament turned off his microphone because his remarks “are not related to the agenda.” Then Ghazaryan again demanded to allow him to speak, criticized Rubinyan for embezzling public funds. The microphone was turned off again, and a scuffle began between deputies from the ruling and opposition parties.
Today, the issue of establishing an investigative commission on the affairs of the Armenian Apostolic Church became the reason for the deputies’ disagreements. The relevant draft was put to a vote by the ruling party, but Strong Armenia considered it unconstitutional. The opposition refused to support the creation of the commission.
