British police detained another suspect while investigating the incident near the Royal Air Force Base Fairford. It's reported by Sky News.
The 22-year-old British national was detained on October 6 in Westminster on suspicion of preparing a terrorist attack. He was the seventh defendant in the investigation.
On September 27, three suspicious vans were stopped near an air base in Gloucestershire. After a call to the emergency services and reports of a terrorist plot at the base were evacuated, several people were detained, Reuters wrote. According to Sky News, a total of six British citizens were detained: five on September 27, another on October 1. They were later released on bail.
The Fairford base was previously used by US bombers who were redeployed to the US over the weekend. The American side explained the withdrawal of equipment with data on a possible threat of attacks by Iranian drones.
