Armenia does not have a bitumen deficiency. In addition, its supplies to the country under agreements with Russia did not stop. This was reported in the Ministry of Territorial Administration and Infrastructures of Armenia.

“There are no problems with the import of bitumen from Russia. And road construction work is carried out in accordance with the established schedule, said TASS press Secretary of the Department Sona Harutyunyan.

Today, the local newspaper “Grapark” wrote that due to the shortage of bitumen in some settlements of Armenia, work on laying asphalt has stopped. According to the publication, despite the existing contracts between Russia and Armenia for its import, now they are practically not fulfilled. This is due to tensions between the countries, the newspaper noted.

Exports of petroleum products from Russia are subject to duties. In 2013, Russia and Armenia signed an intergovernmental agreement, according to which the latter buys gas and diamonds, as well as some types of oil products without paying it. In 2023, bitumen was included in this list.
