In Poland, a technical school student attacked students with a knife

In the Polish city of Ostrolenka, a 19-year-old college student attacked classmates with a knife. Eight victims are known. One of them is a teacher. Two of the victims are in serious condition. This is reported by local radio station Rmf24.

The incident occurred during the lesson - about 11:00 local time (12:00 GMT). The attacker tried to escape, but was soon detained near the city beach, follows from the police report in X.

Mayor Pavel Nevyadomsky said the situation was under control. The school where the attack occurred is temporarily closed. All other schools in the city have introduced enhanced security measures - access to unauthorized persons is limited. Emergency services work at the scene, students are provided with psychological assistance. The circumstances and causes of the incident are being investigated. The motives of the perpetrator remain unknown.
