In Lithuania proposed to involve the army in the protection of the border with Russia

Lithuanian Interior Minister Martinas Katelinas appealed to Defense Minister Robertas Kaunasus with a request to attract military personnel to strengthen border security with the Kaliningrad region. He called the proposed measure preventive.

I want to be clear: the situation on the Lithuanian border is now calm, there is no reason to panic. The deployment of troops is a preventive decision so that we are prepared and prevent such incidents, Katelinas wrote on Facebook.

Martinas Katelinas added that such a need arose after the incident on the Belarusian-Latvian border on the evening of October 6. According to the National Armed Forces of Latvia, a group of 20 people entered the country from Belarus. They stole security cameras and damaged the electrical locker before returning.
