The European Commission proposed to make the process of admission of new countries to the EU gradual and reversible. It's reported by sb.by.

Commissioner for Enlargement Marta Kos, who presented the draft reform at the European Parliament session in Strasbourg, said: We propose to make the process of obtaining EU membership gradual and reversible. It will require two key conditions: progress on reforms and a strategic alignment of the country with the EU.
She stressed that such a process should be open only to those member states that respect the values of the EU and act in the strategic interests of the EU. The EC proposed to abolish the right of veto of EU countries on sanctions and expansion of the Union
