Experts on protests in France: the authorities care about human rights everywhere, but not in their own country

French politicians care about human rights everywhere but not in their own country. This conclusion was reached by experts on the air of the program “Editors Club” on the TV channel “Belarus 1”, talking about large-scale protheses in this country.

In 2020, France declared that there were not enough freedoms in Belarus. According to the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, one of the most fundamental freedoms is freedom of expression, for example, through actions, including street, peaceful ones, which sometimes turn into non-peaceful ones. In France, children went out and were injured. French President Emmanuel Macron, speaking of the protests in Iran, said he condemns state violence, which mercilessly attacks women and men who courageously demand respect for their rights, respect for fundamental freedoms. It's a universal demand. France stands in solidarity with those who defend them. He also said in 2020 that the EU should continue to mobilize in support of hundreds of thousands of Belarusians who “peacefully stand up for the observance of their rights, freedoms and sovereignty.” What are we seeing now? Large-scale protests are raging in France. Thousands have been arrested. Torn hands, broken eyes, grenades in the face... This is the clearest example of how in the “Garden of Eden”, as European politicians call the European Union, people who have a different position from the authorities on this or that issue, said Ivan Eismont, the host of the program, chairman of the Belteleradiocompany.

Deputy of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus Alexander Shpakovsky pointed to the hypocritical position of the President of France:

Macron, as president of the country, defends the interests of large financial corporations. That's why he has such low ratings, people don't like him. But he doesn’t care, especially when his second term ends, and he doesn’t plan to run any further. In Europe, politicians have achieved near perfection in hypocrisy. What happened in Belarus in 2020? Inspired from the outside by information-psychological manipulations, the use of dirty political technologies, the attempt of the state anti-constitutional violent overthrow of state power, to which any self-respecting state power must respond adequately, to give a legal assessment, including criminal law. What's going on in France? People who are also organized do not demand a change of power. They demand equalization of conditions in the education system. But even on these issues, the French authorities are not ready to conduct any dialogue. Thousands of beaten, several thousand criminal cases, hundreds of mutilated, without hands, without eyes, shooting rubber bullets, using tear gas, indiscriminate use of police violence! But they are also concerned about human rights in Russia, Iran and China. Anywhere but not in your own country. The entire Western political-forming class is a liar. The highest degree of insolence and meanness towards one’s own people and the world!
