According to TASS, citing the KCNA agency, the tests took place on September 20, they were observed by the country's leader Kim Jong-un. “This is a demonstration of undoubtedly ultra-modern technical capabilities in the field of defense and a noticeable renewal of the armed forces,” KCNA quoted him as saying.

According to the agency, the tests did not have a negative impact on the security of neighboring states. The type of new weapon system and its characteristics are not specified in the report.

Kim Jong-un noted that the possession of such technology is important in terms of the country’s readiness for war and the future development of the armed forces. According to him, the opponents of the DPRK “know better what such an upgrade means in military-technical terms.”.

The country's leader called the new system "an irresistible force" and said its appearance would be an "incurable headache" for North Korea's opponents and a "very cruel, inevitable, powerful blow.".

Kim Jong-un also expressed gratitude to the General Directorate of Rocket Engineering, specialized research institutes and developers of the new system.
