"People need to see this." The Pentagon will show military execution live

U.S. Defense Secretary Pete Hegset has confirmed that Nidal Hassan's execution will be public. A man sentenced to death for the 2009 Fort Hood massacre will be shot on December 3 and broadcast live. This is reported by RIA Novosti.

“He will be shot, so it should be. People need to see that such actions have serious consequences, said Hegseth.

Nidal Hassan, a former military psychiatrist, shot and killed 13 people at a Texas base on November 5, 2009. As a result of a shootout with the police, he himself was wounded in the spine and permanently lost mobility below the waist. In 2013, a jury unanimously sentenced him to death.

The execution of the sentence is scheduled for December 3. The shooting will be the first military execution in the United States since 1945.
