France will hold talks on energy and competition as part of its G7 presidency. This statement was made by French President Emmanuel Macron, writes sb.by.

As TASS notes, at a press conference following a meeting with the leaders of parliamentary parties, he said:
- I plan to convene a G7 meeting to seek better coordination on inventory levels and closer cooperation on exports and production capacity.
Macron said talks could take place in the coming weeks:
- They will be devoted to energy issues in order to strengthen cooperation and prevent unnecessary tensions between the seven countries, as well as to review options for possible release of strategic reserves or removal of restrictions, as we did a few months ago together with our partners in close cooperation with the International Energy Agency.
In recent months, Paris has been negotiating with various countries to diversify energy supplies. He mentioned talks with India and Middle Eastern leaders, the construction of a gas pipeline from Iraq to the eastern Mediterranean coast, and a future meeting with the Canadian prime minister, where he plans to discuss strengthening trade ties and the supply of petroleum products and liquefied natural gas.
- We intend to act at the European level, and today I will address the head of the European Commission. First, with a request to accelerate the work on the creation of gas storage facilities at the European level, and secondly, to accelerate the implementation of all possible flexibility measures aimed at reducing our prices and changing the structure of energy prices, as well as to do everything possible to preserve our import and refinery capacities, Macron said.
He added that in the future he wants to pay attention to the development of the biofuel industry and continue the course to reduce dependence on hydrocarbons. Czech Republic says Europe is in another energy crisis
