At least 25 sailors died in the Strait of Hormuz in the conflict between the United States and Iran. It's reported by sb.by.

According to the International Maritime Organization (IMO) of the UN, the latest victim of the conflict, lasting since February 28, was a sailor from the tanker Velos Sapphire, attacked in the Strait of Hormuz on November 5. In the same period, the IMO estimates there have been 130 attacks on commercial vessels in the region, with thousands of sailors still unable to leave the Persian Gulf.
“Seafarers continue to be killed and seriously injured, left to fend for themselves, denied the opportunity to return to their homeland, and lack basic necessities, including water, food and medical care, as a result of ongoing geopolitical conflicts,” said IMO Secretary-General Arsenio Dominguez.
Following a five-day meeting of the IMO Council on 6 November, IMO members called on Member States to refrain from illegal actions that could endanger the safety of seafarers and international shipping. Dominguez also pledged to develop additional concrete measures the organization could take to prevent further loss of life and mitigate the humanitarian impact of the crisis.
