According to TASS, the European publication Politico, citing sources, indicated that more and more employees due to the restriction of autonomy in the centralized EC are seeking to move to work in remote regions. A source from among the officials compared the effort to get new positions in the permanent missions of the EU to the UN and the OECD with a “gold rush”. Other reasons were possible budget cuts and another round of confrontation between the President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen and the High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy of the EU Kaja Kallas.
According to the publication, in 2027, about 30 key positions in the Kallas department will be vacant. Among the candidates is the Director General, one of the highest positions in the EU system.
