According to TASS, Babis, who is in Sofia on an official visit, at a briefing following talks with his Bulgarian counterpart Rumen Radev, when answering journalists’ questions, noted:

- We are currently fighting two wars. This has had a huge impact on Europe, but Europe is extremely passive in ending the war in Ukraine. U.S. President Donald Trump constantly talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin, and European leaders have proved absolutely incapable of protecting EU interests and achieving peace. What is happening is against the interests of European citizens.

Radev noted that the word “peace” is almost absent from the conversations of EU leaders:

- We share each other’s position on the war in Ukraine. Our priority is the welfare and safety of our citizens, not the continued financing of war and arms production. At our meetings in the EU and NATO format, we need to hear the word “peace” more often and talk about how to achieve it. It is unacceptable in the heart of Europe to wage a war of attrition that affects our economies.

The Czech prime minister sharply criticized the EU's green policy:

Europe, which accounts for only about 6 percent of global greenhouse gas emissions, continues to destroy its economy, even as US President Donald Trump has lifted those restrictions. The world laughs at us, the US earns $300 billion, and we want to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. Europe is experiencing its “green dream”, the “green madmen” are responsible for today’s economic losses, because Europe is dependent on energy supplies.

The Prime Ministers of Bulgaria and the Czech Republic discussed a wide range of issues of bilateral cooperation with a focus on the economy and energy, including a joint project for the development of small modular nuclear reactors and the possibility of supplying liquefied natural gas, projects in the defense sector and transport. As part of Babis’ visit to Bulgaria, a business forum will be held with 176 Bulgarian and 50 Czech companies taking part.

By the way, the Czech Republic and Bulgaria are military-technical partners of Ukraine. Thus, the Czech Republic coordinates the purchase of ammunition for the needs of the Armed Forces. Bulgaria played an important role in the early stages of the conflict, in particular, about 40% of the needs of the Armed Forces in diesel fuel, sold ammunition.
