According to TASS, the action was directed against the arrival in the city of the association, which planned to distribute humanitarian aid to migrants. Protesters gathered at the port, waiting for cars to arrive by ferry. When Ferreras’ car appeared, the crowd began throwing various objects at it and tried to block the road, although the MP herself had nothing to do with this association.
The National Police had to step in and escort the vehicle. At least two people have been arrested. The incident came amid growing tensions in Ceuta over a massive influx of migrants.

Madrid has deployed the military to help provide security. Authorities estimate that as many as 80,000 people may have entered the city, but the vast majority are believed to have already returned to Morocco.
