Construction of the gas pipeline between Serbia and North Macedonia will begin soon. This will open an additional route for gas supplies from the LNG terminal in Alexandroupolis, Greece, writes sb.by.

A joint statement by the energy ministers of Serbia, Bulgaria, Greece and North Macedonia noted:
- The first pipes for the Serbia-North Macedonia gas interconnector section in Serbia have been delivered, and pipe laying works will begin soon.
The new gas pipeline will be connected to the Greece-North Macedonia interconnector under construction. Completion of its Greek section is expected before the end of 2026, North Macedonia - during 2027.
It is noted that the development of infrastructure will allow Greece by 2027 to increase the capacity for gas exports to 9.5 billion cubic meters.
