According to TASS, the Chinese Foreign Ministry informed that Xi Jinping will arrive in the United States at the invitation of US President Donald Trump.

In the United States informed about the preparation of the basis for the meeting between trump and Xi Jinping. The representative of the US administration at trade negotiations, Jamison Greer, in communication with journalists after consultations in New York, said that the talks between representatives of the US and China on September 20 were aimed at preparing the basis for a successful summit in Washington between US President Donald Trump and Chinese President Xi Jinping:

- We are preparing the groundwork so that when President Xi arrives in Washington on Thursday [September 24], President Trump and President Xi can have a successful summit.

He added that the work of the established Trade Council between the two countries will be aimed at identifying categories of goods that Washington and Beijing could trade on favorable terms

- We expect that from the Chinese side it will be consumer products, low-tech goods, and from the American side – energy, agricultural products, potentially medical equipment and similar things.

Earlier, the head of the US Treasury, Scott Bessent, indicated that the US and China held successful negotiations on trade and AI in New York on September 20.
