In Germany, the first trial in the case of undermining the Nord Stream and Nord Stream 2 pipelines begins. A citizen of Ukraine Sergey K. will appear before the Higher Land Court of Hamburg, sb.by reports.

According to TASS, the court appointed 24 meetings until the end of January. Additional hearings are scheduled for February, their coordination is still ongoing.
Earlier, the court allowed the charge against the Ukrainian to proceed on the merits and opened proceedings. The judges concluded that there was “enough evidence.” Sergey K. is suspected "of a war crime, the use of prohibited methods of war, consisting in attacking civilian objects, carrying out an explosion, destroying construction facilities and disrupting the work of public enterprises.".
The Prosecutor General’s Office of Germany believes that Sergey K. – according to German media, he was the head of a sabotage group – and his accomplices developed a plan to undermine pipelines on behalf of state structures of Ukraine. Another Ukrainian was recently detained in Croatia. The investigation believes that saboteurs on forged documents rented a sailing yacht from one of the German companies and delivered explosives to the Nord Streams. Sergey K. was detained in August 2025 in Italy and extradited to the German side.
On September 26, 2022, unprecedented destruction was recorded on the three lines of Nord Stream and the never-commissioned Nord Stream 2. Croatia arrests suspect in Nord Stream terror attack
