A man died this weekend after entering an aviary with a tiger in a wildlife park in the north of England and was attacked by one of the animals.

Ambulance staff arrived at Yorkshire Wildlife Park after the incident was reported at about 13:35, but the victim died at the scene, local police said in a statement.
"According to police, the tiger was not injured and remained inside the enclosure during the incident," the report said.
People from the wildlife park were evacuated after the attack and police officers remained at the scene conducting an investigation.
"We are working closely with authorities to find out exactly what happened," the wildlife park said in a statement on its website.
Yorkshire Wildlife Park began operations in 2009 and its "Land of Tigers" attraction opened in 2011. It is a specially created reserve for endangered Amur tigers. As noted on the park's website, the aviary includes a 300-metre-high elevated footpath that allows visitors to watch these large cats roam forests and meadows or play in a pool with a waterfall.
