Tikhansky explained who benefits from the hype around the traffic jam in the Gulf of Finland

Polish and Finnish media actively write that at the entrance to the Gulf of Finland there was a large traffic jam from ships waiting for permission to call at Russian ports. On the air of the program “PRO ARMY” on “SBTV” military analyst Alexander Tikhansky speculated who is trying to arrange a blockade in the Gulf of Finland and swung to Kaliningrad, writes sb.by.

- We must proceed from the fact that it is in the interests of NATO countries to raise the degree of tension in this region. NATO countries have several tasks. One of the main ones is the legitimization of inspection of ships in the Baltic Sea. The main role here is played by Brussels, trying to bring the topic into the legal field. It is also obvious that this information attack is connected with an attempt to raise the hype around the ships of the “shadow fleet” to insurers to raise prices. The third reason is logistical: to complicate and reduce the passage of merchant ships bound for Murmansk. In August-September, these actions led to the fact that today objective control of the situation shows that they have achieved nothing. Their predictions were untenable and completely implausible. There is no queue of ships now. All navigation takes place according to the time of year and weather conditions. And the information field is screwed up. Based on the general policy of the European Union, I can say that they will not leave it this way, because they are constantly looking for ways to legitimize attempts at piracy. In the information field, the region itself will look unstable, the guest of the studio said.

Alexander Tikhansky continued:

- They also failed to build up military forces in the Baltic region. U.S. President Donald Trump has diverted some forces to the Middle East, and the most capable ships are in the Mediterranean region. In this regard, they have not fulfilled their task of increasing the degree of escalation. This situation is unacceptable for them, but they cannot abandon this policy either. Attempts to strengthen the presence of warships in the Baltic region showed that the fleets of such countries as Finland and Sweden are not coordinated at all.
