At the International Astronautical Congress in Antalya, Aikol said that the project was started at the end of last year.

We will have a constellation of 198 low-orbit satellites. The first one is scheduled to be launched within two years. The system will have its own signal form, chips and subsystems developed by the domestic ecosystem.

According to him, Astralink will provide stable communication to Turkey and friendly countries.

The Astralink system, also known as Gökbağı, is being developed in Turkey as part of a strategy of technological independence. Its entire component base is designed by Aselsan.
