As TASS notes with reference to the broadcasting corporation ABC, representatives of 35 organizations arrived at the planned demonstration at the venue of the exhibition. Protesters display anti-war banners. The venue itself is cordoned off by significant police forces who have been given additional powers to maintain security.
The International Arms Exhibition for the Army is held in Australia every two years. Representatives from 60 countries will take part in it in 2026.
In September 2024, demonstrations against the same exhibition in Melbourne ended in riots and clashes between protesters and police. Then injured 24 police officers, and dozens of protesters were arrested for attacks on law enforcement, arson and opposition to the police. In Australia during the exercise killed a soldier, five others were injured
