India plans to build first artificial intelligence city
In the next five years, they intend to support at least 50 AI startups and form a technological ecosystem.

The authorities of the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh are working to create the country’s first specialized city of artificial intelligence. The project will be implemented in Lucknow, the state capital, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said. This is reported by BelTA with reference to TV BRICS.
According to him, Lucknow plans to turn into one of the leading centers of AI innovation in India. The authorities expect to form a full-fledged technological ecosystem in the city, which will unite startups, large companies, educational platforms and specialists in the field of digital technologies.
Over the next five years, the Uttar Pradesh government intends to support the creation of at least 50 AI startups in Lucknow. Projects are promised assistance in the stages of launch, development and entry into international markets.
“We are actively working on plans to create the country’s first AI city in Lucknow and form an artificial intelligence ecosystem,” said Yogi Adityanath.
The head of state urged young professionals to participate in the initiative. The authorities expect to use the potential of Uttar Pradesh’s young cadres to develop high-tech industries.
Lucknow’s vision is not limited to AI. The city also wants to make the center of the semiconductor industry, cybersecurity, computing and deep tech – areas related to advanced scientific and engineering developments.
Work on the AI-city is already underway, but the exact timing of its launch and the full list of facilities have not yet been named. The state hopes that the future AI city will help attract investment, accelerate the development of start-ups and strengthen Lucknow’s position as the technological center of India.
