The general strike due to the housing crisis will take place in Spain on November 11 and will last 24 hours. This was reported by a representative of the tenants’ union (Sindicato de Inquilinas), the main organizer of a tent camp in the center of Madrid, writes sb.by.

Mass protests over the housing crisis began in Madrid after the resonant eviction of 87-year-old Maricarmen Abascal. After one of the demonstrations, participants set up a tent camp in Puerta del Sol Square, which later became the center of the protest movement.
“The country’s major trade unions CCOO [Trade Union Confederation of Spanish Workers’ Commissions] and UGT [General Workers’ Union], as well as the main representatives of our tent camp, have agreed to hold a strike on November 11,” the tenants’ union said.
